Mysterious laptop keyboard issue

Hi,

I have an Acer Aspire V3-771G, it's a year and a few months old. I've opened it up a few times to clear the dust out and I also replaced the thermal paste a few months ago. Since a few weeks, some keys on the keyboard have been acting strange, more specifically the 6, 8 and 9 on the row above the letters, the left shift key and the F2 key. On startup, none of these keys work. When I tap one or more of them a few times, they all start working. It stays like this for an amount of time, and then they stop working again until I mash them some more.
I don't know if this is a software or hardware issue, so I hope this is the right forum. I've booted to a Linux live cd twice to see if it was a hardware issue. The first time the keys all worked from boot, and the second time I couldn't get any of them to work at all. I've taken a look at the keyboard's ribbon cable and it seemed fine. I've also been messing around with uninstalling/reinstalling the keyboard drivers, which didn't help.
Does anybody have an idea about what this is?

Please help.

I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
